Mexican braseros are made of terracota and need a minimum of care!
Do not let water inside over winter, it would damage the terracota, especially if it gets to freeze.
Protect it from water, use a cover if needed, or best, put it inside your garage if you can.
In addition to that, remove the sand during winter since you are not using the brasero, it keeps humidity.
Braseros are great for your ambiance, but they are not magic and need you to take care of it if you want to keep it for a while!
